Ambubachi Mela 2026: Food & Water Distribution Drive

The annual Ambubachi Mela at the historic Maa Kamakhya Temple brings lakhs of devotees, ascetics, and pilgrims to our home city of Guwahati. With the massive influx of people traveling long distances amidst the heavy Assam monsoons, ensuring access to wholesome food and safe drinking water becomes a vital community responsibility.

In the spirit of Seva (selfless service), the Shymal Seal Foundation organized a dedicated Food and Water Distribution Drive to welcome and support the pilgrims.

Our team of volunteers set up a distribution camp and successfully served around 200 plates of freshly prepared, hygienic meals. The menu included:

  • Khichdi: A warm, nutritious staple perfect for the rainy weather.
  • Labra Bhaji: A classic, traditional Assamese mixed vegetable preparation.
  • 1-Liter Water Bottles: Ensuring each devotee stayed properly hydrated during their journey up the hill.

Seeing the smiles and receiving the blessings of the devotees was a deeply humbling experience for our volunteers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors and members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to procure materials, cook, and manage the distribution safely.

The Shymal Seal Foundation remains committed to standing with our community and celebrating the rich spiritual heritage of Assam through active grassroots support.
