Caring for our elders is a core pillar of the Shymal Seal Foundation. Many senior citizens in our community face their twilight years without family support or a steady income, leaving them vulnerable to daily hardships.
Recently, our team visited Mr. Swapan Das, a 60-year-old resident of American Colony near Chanapatty. Living entirely alone—without a spouse, children, or any source of income—he relies heavily on the compassion of the community to meet his basic needs.
To assist him with his daily essentials and groceries, the Foundation provided a direct financial contribution of ₹1000 via cheque. While this is a modest step, we hope it brings him some comfort and serves as a reminder that he is not forgotten by his community.
We are committed to continuing our outreach to identify and support vulnerable elders across Assam.
